The Department of Streets and Sanitation (DSS) is pleased to announce the City’s annual Clean & Green Day of Service is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2023. Clean & Green is a citywide opportunity for Chicago residents and local organizations to help beautify and revitalize areas in their communities by pitching in to complete tasks such as collecting litter, removing weeds, and clearing vacant lots.
Residents and groups interested in volunteering for Clean & Green are asked to identify an area where they would like to clean and contact 311 to register their volunteer group for that area. Please note that all groups must be entered into the 311 system by April 17, 2022. DSS will lend the brooms, rakes, shovels, and bags needed to complete each cleaning project, and then you will need to coordinate with the Ward Office to pickup your items.
