The Chicago Department of Transportation, as part of the 2023 Arterial Street Resurfacing Program, will be resurfacing segments of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive. The limits of the work will be LaSalle Drive to Lawrence Avenue in the northbound direction and Lawrence Avenue to Irving Park Road in the southbound direction. Construction is scheduled to begin on Sunday, April 16th, weather permitting.
General contractor Bigane Paving will work extended evening and overnight hours, in addition to off-rush daytime work, to complete the work by mid-June. All lanes in the southbound direction will be fully reopened to traffic during the morning rush period and all northbound lanes will be fully reopened to traffic in the afternoon rush period. The work will include milling and resurfacing of the existing asphalt roadway pavement and repairs to the concrete deck of the DuSable Lake Shore Drive Viaduct over Montrose Drive.
