Kimberly (Kim) Cook (she/her), serves as the Neighbor Engagement Coordinator at the 40th Ward. Kim graduated in Spring 2024 with a BAS in Disability and Human Development and a minor in Urban Studies from UIC, and has since amassed valuable experience as an Oral Historian at the National Public Housing Museum, a Program Coordinator at Chicago Hopes for Kids, and a Social Media Specialist at UIC’s English Department.

Her journey into community engagement began when she became a Brother of Alpha Phi Omega, dedicating countless hours to campus and city-wide community service. This ignited her passion for community connection, meaningful relationships, and positive change. What Kim appreciates most about her work is the ability to connect with the community, foster meaningful connections, and create a positive impact. Outside the office, Kim enjoys exploring the city’s food scene and embarking on travel adventures around the world.
