On September 2, 2020, we held our first community meeting for the Ainslie Arts Plaza, which is the first city development project that I was able to initiate since taking office. The endeavor is a realization of my vision of incorporating art into our economic development as a way to unite the community while invigorating business districts. Previously, the Ainslie Arts Plaza was comprised of parking spots and space in front of the McDonalds on Western, but when the opportunity presented itself, I moved to vacate the Lincoln strip in front to make room for the project.
We look forward to the Grand Showing once it’s complete! Many thanks to the Lincoln Square Ravenswood Chamber, CDOT, the Department of Planning and Development, and to Teska for the design work.
