PUBLIC SAFETY STATEMENT FROM ALD. VASQUEZ REGARDING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT ON 5900 BLOCK OF N RAVENSWOOD

On Wednesday, March 13th at approximately 8am, there was an apparent domestic violence incident on the 5900 block of N Ravenswood, which fatally wounded a 10-year-old child and seriously injured a woman. CPD has identified a person of interest, and detectives are currently investigating the scene. A public description of the offender is not currently available. Our office is in touch with the 20th District and will share updates as we receive them. 

UPDATE 3/13/24: CPD informed the 40th Ward this afternoon that the person of interest is now in custody.
