After consideration of resident feedback, the 40th Ward office will support the proposed zoning change from B3-2 Community to C1-2 by Eagle Dispensaries of Illinois, LLC at 2415-25 W. Peterson Avenue.
The property is currently a one-story commercial building with 10 parking spaces. The building footprint will remain unchanged, but will undergo an interior remodeling to activate the approximately 5,500 sq/ft of commercial space with an adult-use cannabis dispensary.
Process
All proposed zoning changes in the 40th Ward undergo a community feedback process. Neighbors are invited to comment on the proposal at public meetings and online, and all comments and feedback are considered and discussed by Ald. Feedback on this proposal was majority positive. A majority of neighbors shared support for a dispensary at this location across the neighborhood and the most immediate neighbors were similarly majority positive. Hearing the feedback of the community, Alder Vasquez has decided to support the zoning change at this time.
Ald. Vasquez is supportive of this dispensary operating at this location pending all licensing requirements from Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation be met and compliance with regulations set forth by the Zoning Board of Appeals.
