The Chicago Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this morning, around 1:30 a.m., at the corner of Foster and Damen in the 40th Ward. Shell casings were recovered at the scene and there is criminal damage to the property located at 5200 N. Damen Ave. No injuries have been reported.
I have been in communication with the 20th District throughout the morning. The Chicago Police Department believes it is an isolated incident and they are investigating. There will be increased patrols in the area. If neighbors have security camera footage or any information about the incident, please contact the 20th District (312-742-8714).
